maybe being first isn't always a good thing..... we built a rope swing down an embankment that was rather steep and i decided that as i climbed the tree to put the rope up that i was going to go first.... the rope was sturdy and held my weigh but the branch didn't like the idea of having a mini-shady swinging from it (thus a brief lesson in gravity and physics), i thought the branch would have been stong enough as i was sat on it to tie the rope but didn't know that momentum of swinging would be my downfall :D

i had the same kind of thing mate but our rope swing swang out over a cliff edge with about a 20ft drop ......i swang out holding the stick and it snapped!!!! i plummeted to the valley floor and disappeared under a pile of autumn leaves ..my mate said all that was visible was my out stretched arms still grasping the 2 snapped bits of wood
